orientation 2.0 (October 22, 2026) Set page orientation Daniel Benjamin Miller This package provides various comments for altering PDF page orientation in LaTeX. When using dvips with Ghostscript, the various PDF auto-rotation modes may sometimes need some tweaking. Using the auto-rotation feature of Ghostscript may suffice in most cases: it sets the orientation of the pages of the PDF according to text direction (either per-page or for the whole document). But sometimes we don't want this. For instance, Ghostscript may not obey the orientation set by geometry or other packages. This package supports fixing that behavior (as well as letting you set the orientation in other engines). To use the package, just add the following to your preamble: \usepackage{orientation} If you are using dvipdfmx, you will need to specify it: \usepackage[dvipdfmx]{orientation} The following options are available: * dvips (default in DVI mode) * dvipdfmx (aliases: xdvipdfmx, xetex; default with XeTeX) * pdftex (default with pdfTeX in PDF mode) * luatex (default with LuaTeX) There are have eight commands available, in two categories. These commands orient the current page and all following pages (until replaced): * \setportrait * \setlandscape * \setupsidedown * \setcounterlandscape These commands orient the current page only: * \thispageportrait * \thispagelandscape * \thispageupsidedown * \thispagecounterlandscape Made available under the CC-Zero Dedication, 2021--26.
